I really depends on how much space you want.  This is an excellent one.  Prices are going up though, because there is a worldwide NAND shortage.

Crucial MX300

Those have relatively low 4K read speeds, which is what matters if it's a boot drive.

Theres no SSDs with that cost/gb.
The best youll find are 240gbs for under 100 or 480gb for about 120-130

You won't find a 500GB drive for $100 or less.  The absolute cheapest you'll find (that isn't a total piece of ****) is this OCZ one.  It's not Samsung level, but it's awesome for the price.  There's a Sandisk one for $5 less, but the 4K read speeds are almost 50% lower.

By the way, ignore any benchmarks that mention either RAPID (Samsung) or Momentum Cache (Crucial).  People who use that don't understand it's just a waste of RAM.  Benchmarks are totally unreliable, because they are essentially benchmarking RAM and think they're actually getting those speeds.

Yeah rapid and momentum are only good on computers with at mininum 16gb ram and even then the improvement is far less than they claim it to be.

Superfetch already does that with executables anyway.  You'll end up with two copies in your RAM.
