Anyone got a good video to teach me the basics of coding in java?

Got me started (apart from the university professor)

I think the best way to learn Java is to not and then learn something less shitty.

If you want to learn OOP: Java is one of the more easy languages to slip into and really get a grip on Objects / Classes etc.

C++ is too complicated for that with it's pointers.

The book "Java, A Beginners Guide" by Oracle Press is a solid starting ground. The book is very well written and easy to understand, as well as being up to date (specifically the 6th edition is up to date for Java 8 and JavaFX, but they'll be releasing a 7th edition in September to coincide with Java 9).

I will always reccomend Sam's "in 24 Hours." Taught me VB, is teaching me Node.js, and I even have the Java book on the side.
