HD7700 underpowered?

Hey, guys!

I got an HD7700 for very cheap at a second-hand sale to replace my HD5770. I replaced the cards and installed drivers, with everything working correctly. However, once I tried playing a game (Assetto Corsa), the screen just froze up the moment I loaded a car in. I could hear sound, and the car would respond to keyboard commands but the screen remained frozen. I was wondering, could this be that my CX430 PSU just can't power the card or something else?

Any ideas are welcome and if I would need a new PSU, please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance guys.

Side note: If I posted this in the wrong section, sorry!, feel free to move the thread.

Your PSU should be plenty.

What are the rest of your specs?

What are your CPU/GPU usages?

What are your CPU/GPU temps?

Did you run DDU to remove the old GPU drivers before installing the new ones?

What settings are you playing at?

Hi! I have an i7 950, 4GB ram, and a gigabyte motherboard (very cheap build ik, I'm a student).

I haven't been monitoring usages of CPU/GPU.

I know from before that my CPU hovers around 50-60C under load.

No, I didn't remove any of the old GPU drivers (probably should have).

And I'm running at around mid to high settings.

Run DDU and then reinstall the GPU drivers and see if that helps.

If I run DDU and erase everything and then install my new card, will it need drivers to send an image to my screen or will it do it with no drivers? Becuase I want to make sure I will be able to see my screen and login before deleting them,. (that's probably a really stupid question).

It will still be able to output without drivers.
