Pretty much not a chance (for most mortals, e.g. have you considered cutting PCI Express traces on a motherboard and sniffing traffic between devices using an FPGA, just so you could debug stuff).

 

Marcan (former colleague of mine) had a great talk on CCC on running Linux on a ps4 and what it took to get there. I'm sure he had lots of fun doing it, but he's a bit of a beast when it comes to reverse engineering stuff and getting random tech to work.

 

He basically fixed some bugs Sony and AMD screwed up along the way, ported a driver, and managed to run portal on steam on Linux on ps4 in end as a demo.

 

Talk is probably useless from a practical perspective, but very interesting and insightful and he's a really good speaker at least as far as the slightly autistic tech obsessive tech crowd goes.
