Looking for a decent gaming projector around £150

andybeech

Hi currently got absis projector but it is old and has a terrible picture as only recently learnt it native is 800x600 so 1080 images look terrible and very dark. Can anyone recommend a projector for around £150 uk that has decent contrast, brightness and is native 1080x1920 I did spot this one

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172497448464 if anyone knows anything about it and if it's any good, I use it for pc, Xbox one, 360, PS3

Thanks

I would absolutely not recommend a projector for gaming, the latency would be higher in most cases and even if you could pick a decent one up for gaming, it would cost a considerable amount more than your budget. I would seriously suggest just sticking with a monitor. :) There are several really good options out there, one of my personal favourites is the new IIYAMA GE2788HS-B2 which has great performance for the price-point and will get you much further than a projector.

Your ebay link doesn't work, mate. Afaik there aren't any "gaming" projectors out there and to be honest you'd be better off getting a decent monitor instead. No projector can match the colours or brightness of a monitor (did I mention you can actually see stuff on the panel when it's not completely dark in the room?).

Ok cheers the reason is that I want a better projector is because I have a flat which currently I have 3 screens setup for my pc and then use the projector for when have guests round or playing coop games, which is easier to see then my 24" monitors, as the projector currently shows 80", I do realise that the latency is not the best also.

I wouldn't even watch movies on that projector, let-alone get into any gaming on it. Best bet is to get a TV with a good refresh rate, Sony are typically the most popular among living-room gamers, I know it may be out of budget but save up a little bit and you won't be disappointed :)

Fair enough but it's more the home theatre style I quite like ? With giant screen, as for anything in tv near to same size would cost me few grand lol

Understandable, I just had a little chat with a friend of mine who specialises in Home theatre (Shoutout to Oxford Audio!) and at your price-point he suggests this one: ELEPHAS Projector, bonus too as it's currently on sale, first-look would suggest good things, it has good reviews, worth checking out! :)

Of course, there is this one too which looks like you'll get a bit of a brighter image, it's slightly more expensive than the other one but doesn't breach your budget still! :)

There cool though the first one has a low contrast and there both native 420p so not sure how well they up scale to 1080p but for the price that's really good.
