overclocking gtx 1080

okay so im thinking about OC my msi gaming x 1080 and i am not sure what programs i should use.. for the OC i was thinking about Afterburner but i guess i need some sort of program to test the card and see if the clock is stable right? what program should i use for testing it?

Heaven Unigene Benchmark or Valley Unigene would be nice. Or just run the game

alright, do you know what the max temp is for my gpu? im guessing that i should keep it lower than 80*c?

Which GTX 1080? My crappy RX 480 ran at 83 C just fine but that is sure a bit hot (at load 100%)

alright, when im overclocking. should i go +10 Mhz on the core clock all the time till it stops or how should i do?

Keep going until you run benchmarks and it no longer stable. +10 is a nice start

94c is the limit of the 1080 cards. temps in the 80c-85c is perfectly acceptable.

 

+125 on the core and +500 on mem with 115% Power target.  is a decent place to start.

+200 on the core and +580 on memory. 72*c Max so far
