I'm trying to build my first pc.

I'm trying to buy from pc case gear (aus) and there is a bundle with a xeon E3 1230 V5 and i was wondering if it would be good for gaming and general use.

also the processor comes with ASRock Fatal1ty E3V5 motherboard and Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB memory for $599 aud, is this a good deal?

thanks hynam199

gotta love my computer check it out B)

3.4GHz, 4core with hyperthreading. Should be real good for gaming. Equal to an i7, of what gen I do not know.

A Xeon is essentially a locked I7 without intergrated graphics. The one you're looking at can be overclocked by supporting motherboards via the BCLK method. Your deal is a pretty good one. You also need to buy a cpu cooler.

Also, I would suggest you to research a lot if you want to OC your xeon via the BCLK method and if you aren't afraid of downgrading your bios.

What are you building your pc for? If you want more help for your first build. I would suggest you to head to the New Builds and Planning sub forum.
