Looking for ~$250, don't want to go much higher. 1440p monitor needs to be decent in color and low ghosting plz

I have a 144hz monitor. benQ xl2420z. I can tell you, it's amazing and you'll notice the difference as soon as you turn a 144hz on. But you really need to ask yourself if you want performance or beauty. I mean, if you want to play at a high level, the 144hz is your choice because it is going to improve your performance, but if you only play "casually" and like to watch movies and such, a higher resolution screen and an IPS panel are the best choice, altough your graphics card won't be able to max out all triple AAA games at 1440p, so there is that.

Same as the other people who replied, a 1080p, 144hz monitor will probably be better for gaming. But, if you are doing video editing and movie watching with it, 1440p 60hz is a very good choice. It all depends on the hardware.
