Sorry for another Laptop thread. BUT

What is the cheapest laptop you can get but still put in $300 bucks and get it to decent spec ? CPU/RAM upgrades or even GPU upgrades.

Looking for one with under a $150 price.

The T420 comes with decent spec and you can get the NVS 4200m version for $220. I'd be willing to take that route. Put in a bit more for another 4 GB adding up to 8 GB and then another $60 for a 2670qm and i'd consider it pretty good.

Though any other options? I dont like laptops with a CPU ending in U as that indicates dual core (which I think should die unless their I3's

A laptop is not going to be as modular as a desktop, especially today. Even then, the ones that are modular will cost you a good amount of money to get a new GPU for, and those laptops are way out of your price range.

What do you need the laptop for?

Well I said the T420 because I can find the NVS version for $220 then $60 for a quad core CPU then $30 for 8GB RAM

And really, just CSGO, Minecraft, Recording, Audacity, basically everything a 13 year old youtuber needs to do. xD

In america, I can find a 2520m, 8 GB RAM and 1 GB VRAM upgradable to 2670qm 16 GB RAM and possibly 2 GB VRAM for $350 USD.

I like Dell E series, though I would go with something older to save money like a E6420. Though that I5 has more potential than the 2520m

yes i totally forgot these E series laptops you can easily upgrade the CPU as well

im currently using a E5220 at work with the 2520m,
but i highly doubt youre going to find a GPU for gaming from the latitude series

These laptops have either quadro or firepro gpu's for workstation apps,

the really good thing about my dads laptop with the NVS5200m is that Nvidia Optimus completely turns off the GPU when it isnt being used, for 1080p youtube videos its just running of the intel igpu

That is a really good feature. Does yours by any chance have a GPU?
