Doesn't matter if it's common or not, if your CPU can't get stable at 4.5GHz with the max voltage you want to use, you got no choice but to do one of the option.

You will notice a minimal difference between the two clock speed.

Hello there,

I have been having an issue with my CPU overclock. It's an i7 6700k and I can only clock it to 4.5Ghz somewhat stably at 1.355v. Running the AIDA 64 CPU, Cache and FPU tests simultaneously caused the CPU package to hit over 80C. I am using a 240mm Thermaltake Water 3.0 AIO cooler. 70% of the time, my AIDA test stops itself one minute in as well. What could be wrong with my rig?

If the AIDA64 test is stopping itself...that is usually due to instability somewhere. Most likely your overclock.

You can either pull back on your Overclock and voltage (yields lower temperature), or add more voltage (yields higher temperature)

I have tried this OC with 1.34 all the way up to 1.355v. Anything lower than 1.35v crashes the system.

how about this, clear cmos, or load pre oc profile and start over.
