Hi everyone, long time watcher, first time poster.  I have a rig that I thought would improve storage and speed by the inclusion of a 512 intel 600p m.2 ssd.

I installed it and installed windows, however, after installing the drive, all other devices except my external drive, disappeared from the bios and windows.

I have all sorts of problems showing up in device manager including the nic so I can even get online to try and download drivers etc.  The other hdds (256 and 500 Samsung 850's and a seagate 3Tb) are not showing up at all even in device config or the bios?  The video card (1070) is showing up as basic video device and even the bluray burner is no where to be seen.  It is like all sata drivers are not working.

I removed the nvme intel 600p and everything went back to normal so it's not a knocked cable or similar.

Computer:

Intel 6700k

Gigabyte Gaming 5

H115i

32 Gbs Gskill 3200

250/500 Samsung SSD

3Tb Seagate HDD

Asus ROG GTX1070 OC 8Gb

I have done a lot of research and google searches but I can't find this replicated anywhere.

I am normally a little more capable but his has got me stumped......any help/advice would be appreciated....

Sorry I just looked down the site and realised this should have been put under troubleshooting.....feel free to move mods :)

I installed windows on it and windows worked but no drivers were installed except for external drive.  All other drives and device drivers were non existent, with device manager showing up lots of errors.

chipset drivers installed?

When I do a fresh install of windows on the normal ssd....I have no need to allow for drivers - chipset or not.

With the NVMe I cant even load the drivers from the gigabyte dvd via bluray drive as it's not found.

So should I dl the chipset drivers...place them on the windows media or external drive before installing windows and then try to see if that brings everything back online?

Regards,

Peter

I am doing this however, why would this stop all harddrives from showing up in the bios?

So after installing drivers etc most things are working (I am working from the nvme drive now) however, I can see any of the other drives even in the bios.

It is like installing the nvme drive shuts down sata??

Could this have something to so with pci-e lanes?

Okies guys so I checked the pci lane compatibility in the mb manual and swapping to the second m.2 post fixed the problem.  So yeah it was a conflict with the first m.2 port using the same lanes as the sata 3 ports.

Thanks for all your help peeps.
