Old CPU with new GPU

I've been thinking of upgrading my current PC with a new graphics card as it is going to take a good while until I can make a new one.

Problem is, I don't know how bad my CPU would bottleneck my GPU and if performance in gaming (Specifically Overwatch) would be any good.

The GPU I want to use is a EVGA Geforce GTX 1070 SSC but my CPU is an old Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 running at 2.4GHz I've heard you can overclock it to 3.2 though.

Would the GPU be too much for the CPU?

Yes it will. I'd get new cpu/mobo + cheaper gpu

get a 1050ti or a 460, a 750ti if you are on a tight budget.

The thing about getting a new CPU, MOBO and GPU is that I'd also need a new PSU and RAM. Basically a whole new PC.
I think I'm gonna go with a different GPU.

1050ti should be fine. maybe a 1060 3gb.

@Dawson Wehage Thanks, I'll be sure to check them out. I was gonna go with a 1060 originally but I thought the increase in FPS would be worth it.
