Probably don't need the accessories. Is the Cloud 2's 7.1 surround spund worth it or is it a gimmick? Do the Cloud 2's have a better sound signature and mic than the Core and more importantly is the 7.1 and audio and mic quality worth the extra $50?

Not worthed at all imo, they are exactly the same model core - 1 - 2, sound wise, with differences in exterior and accessories they come with, nothing else is different from those headsets.

The USB dongle is gimmicky, a proper open-back headphone can emulate those "surround" sound qualities with better details. Most of them sound like you're listening to a hollow tin can. Try Razer surround sound for free to have an idea what they sound like.

CSGO HRTF mode, not bad for surround sound, i just realized it recently, and this is coming from a person who dislikes surround sound.

Hi guys, I am looking into buying a new headset and am deciding between the HyperX Cloud 1 (AU$95), HyperX Cloud Core (AU$59) or HyperX Cloud 2 (AU$109). Are the accessories included with the Cloud 1 worth the AU$31 premium over the Cloud Core? Is the 7.1 surround sound in the Cloud 2 worth the AU$14 premium over the Cloud 1 or the AU$50 premium over the Cloud Core?

Well do you want to use the extra accessories? if not, just get the Core, if you do want the accessories you can go for the 1.

Extras from cloud 1 are: airplane jack/connector and velour pads and a volume control unit. The leather pads are already good imo.
