PC won't boot without second Hard drive

OK guys,

When I try to boot without my HDD connected, it says select proper boot medium or similar. But my OS is on an SSD and the HDD wasn't even connected during the install. And it only has ONE SINGLE data partition...

How is this possible and how do I fix that?

cheers

Change the boot priority in bios.

If that doesn't work then you should boot from your Windows installer and select repair my computer > Fix start up problem.

You're sure the drive wasn't connected when installing Windows for the first time?
Or when the anniversary update was installed?

Yes I'm sure. I had my old Windows installed there before I upgraded to an SSD but this was 2 years ago and I deleted everything from it...

Nevertheless, I fixed the problem with a fresh install of Windows and I'll never plug in the HDD again :P
