How to Play Accelerated 4K Video

I routinely play 4k video content at accelerated speeds.

However, Potplayer drops frames and lags the video stream, and VLC glitches up on my rig (new i5 and RX 480).

An example is posted below.

I'm playing either MKV or RAW video.

How do I stop this?

What codec? In vlc its ctrl i i think

all the decoding is done on cpu for vp9(unless you have kabylake igpu)

Id convert it to something like cineform or dnxhr or h265 if you want to play it well.

buy a kabylake cpu and use the igpu.
