How to Play Accelerated 4K Video

I routinely play 4k video content at accelerated speeds.

However, Potplayer drops frames and lags the video stream, and VLC glitches up on my rig (new i5 and RX 480).

An example is posted below.

I'm playing either MKV or RAW video.

How do I stop this?

Id convert it to something like cineform or dnxhr or h265 if you want to play it well.
