What the issue is:

I'm using a software like a 3D modelling tool, or playing a game when the computer suddenly freezes, but not as computers usually do.

I have two monitors, so I usually watch a youtube video and play games or 3D model at the same time. However, when the "freezing" happens, every function stops working, the video image stops while the audio continues. When I'm in a game, the game runs perfectly fine till I'm going to save the game.

Very rare is that the PC, when I'm only browsing the web, is suddenly slowing down, pages can't load, network dies and every Windows function stops working. Can't press anything, not even Windows Start button or type any command.

I can play the game just fine, load levels and run around hacking monsters. Sometimes saving works, but when I shut the game down, no button on windows work.

I can also note that pressing the "Restart" button makes my PC unable to boot to Windows. The motherboard doesn't notice the SSD what so ever. But a restart by holding the "On" button makes it boot like normal. Not sure why that is the case either.

 * No commands works like CTRL + Alt + Delete.

 * The mouse can move around and click on things, but nothing reacts.

 * I can move around the application windows without a problem.

 * No video, eg. Youtube, Twitch, Skype, image stops while the sound continues.

What I've tried:

 * Update Windows.

 * Update drivers.

 * Run virus scan, no virus detected.

 * Restart the computer, but works only temporarily.

 * SMART test on SSD + HDD, no flaws all 100% healthy.

 * SSD + HDD speed test, no abnormal speeds, all normal.

 * Graphics test, no different.
 * Return any overclock to default.

 * Checking GPU and CPU tempteratures, never above 70C.

 * Checked Windows Log but it only mentions a "sudden shutdown has occured".

 * Searching the internet. No one seems to have a similar issue.

All this gave no different result.

Frequency:

This happens always at "random". Some days there's no problem what so ever. I play games, save, shut down game, continue to do whatever on PC.

Some days the PC "freezes" and I have to restart twice for it to work again.

The frequency of this "freezing" had been anywhere from 0-4 times a week, since three or four months back.

Temporary solutions:

The only thing I have found that solves this issue, at least temporarily, is to hold down the Shut Down button and restart the PC. When PC has booted, shut it down imediately the normal way through the Windows UI button. This has proven so far to be the only way for the PC to work properly again, at least for a while.

Hardware + OS:

CPU:  i7 3770K

GPU:  EVGA GTX 980 Ti

Mobo: Asrock (Forgot specific name)

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LP

PSU: 850W Corsair (Forgot specific)

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB

HDD: 2x 2TB

OS: Windows 10 Professional (64-bit)

PC Should be about 2.5 years old or so.

As a sidenote, the Anti-Virus I'm using is: Panda Global Protection 2016.

Finally words and speculation:

I'm all out of ideas what the issue could be. I don't have any hardware to swap and try and see what's wrong. My guess has been for long that the SSD was the fault, but it's apparently healthy. Then I've thought that the Windows is the issue, but no log mentions any flaw.

Do you have any tips, clues or whatnot that might help? I'm starting to get sick of this issue.

Any questions, feel free to ask.
