Overclocking a locked processor 6th or 7th gen

has anyone recently tried to overclock a pentium or a i3 processor just say a post on pcpartpicker and someone was able to overclock a pentium g4400 to 4.8 ghz now i thought intel said no to overclocking back in mid 2015 but i like to know if anyone has.

some z boards can bclk overclock locked procs to high frequencies but imo it's a waste of time since buying a 6500 and a h series board is better value
