Noob Build No OC

Hey all, I am building my first ever gamer computer and want my first build to be non oc as I go. That being said I'm thinking about the Asus B150 mobo but without oc for the CPU, what would be the greatest CPU for max non oc fps? Not going to be gaming over 1080p on this rig at all.

The most of your FPS will come from GPU power, unless you want to drive a monitor with high refresh rate. Grab an i5 6500 or any similar LGA 1151 i5 if it costs less.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I would get a i5 6600 (not k) or a 6500. I don't have my graphics card for my new rig yet but with the igpu on my 6600k (not overclocked) I get a steady 50 fps on csgo. You can't go wrong with any of the 6th or 7th I5s as long as your gpu is decent

first of all mobo has nothing to do with fps, that's your cpu and gpu.

Pretty sure he said best CPU for max fps, not best Mobo

yes, the 6th gen (skylake) core series CPU are starting to go on sale.  I got my i7 6700k for $140 off right before kabylake chips dropped.  We are not seeing much of an improvement over Skylake so if you can find a Skylake on sale it would be worth it.

I swear I don't work for Microcenter but I love that place.  They seem to have the best CPU + Motherboard deals.  But I always buy my RAM somewhere else.  They have Skylake on sale and another $20 or $30 off of the motherboard if you buy them at the same time.
