second hand x260

Everything above X220, including that, is fine for university. Might wanna look at T420 and above.

So in about 4 months i will be leaving for uni to do a 5 year Computing Science course to hopefully become a teacher. For this i need a new laptop and thats where i come here for advice. Here is what i need

- Light as possible

- Not blazing fast and not super slow

- About 8 hours or greater battery life

- Needs to have a CD drive

- Somewhere around £100 - £500 MAX

here is what i have already: (Note: I am open for notebooks as well but i am hearing they are not the best for performance if you know of a good notebook in this price range include as well)

It's going to be difficult to find you a small/light laptop with a CD drive.

I don't desperately need it, would be handy

Alright, well there are a few laptops that I found under $500 dollars, but the thing is, they all suck if you are going to pay that little for a laptop so it's hard to gauge. However, I did find, just $50 dollars over your budget (roughly), the Toshiba Tecra C50-C1501 Laptop. This has an optical drive AND up to 9 hours battery life, prices at 556.99 on Toshiba's website. I did, however, find it for a few bucks less on Amazon. Might be worth checking out, if you don't already have another laptop in mind.

The X260 would be a little expensive in the UK (for good ones on Ebay, around £600-650) The X250/T450 would be definitely affordable, and are great laptops. In addition, Dell Latitudes and HP EliteBooks are almost (if not) as good as ThinkPads, and are a little cheaper due to less demand for them. The Latitude E7270 or the E7470 are great, as well as the EliteBook 820 and 840 G3.
