What should i pick for my gtx 1080

TommyW2061

so i just recently finished my build (link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pcvKkT ). now that i have some money saved up again, im going to buy a new monitor. but im going to need some opinions...

currently i have a crappy 24" 1920x1080 philips monitor with terrible colors and backlight bleed. my second monitor is a lg 25" widescreen 2560x1080 OC'ed to 75 Hz.

so im looking for a 24-27" 2560x1440 with a refresh rate from anywhere between 100Hz - 144Hz. i dont know what brand is the best so i really dont know what to pick, because there are like a million monitors to choose from.

my budget 300-400 euro-ish.

thanks in advance.

some of these are kinda expensive but if you save up longer, it would be worth it because the rog monitors make your gaming experience better.

i'd beg to differ on the performance side of things (because honestly.. at 4k.. turn of AA for goodness sake..) but there's plenty more reasons to not go 4k yet :P

IMO the whole "pixel race" as i call it is being rushed... my computer from 1995 supports 1280x1024 pixels, that's how long we've been at *almost 1080p*, and now we went from 1080p to 2160p, and on our way to 4320p in a mere few years.

give it two more generations of gpu's before 4k is really a worthy pick for gaming.

That would be in your best opinion because of both more choices available and because you will have more money to meet your requirements.

aside from the TN (which, is potentially gonna be poopy colors) side of things, my vote is on the dell he linked.

i cant agree more with you. 4k is barely out yet and there are already 8k panels coming out as tv's and monitors.

funny thing is that the 8k dell monitor can only be run at this moment by a nvidia quadro p6000 that costt 6000$ plus the 5000$ for the monitor itself xD

That's just zipfs law. Back in the past we developed at a slower rate as we do now because of the lack of technology available. It's not that it's being developed too quickly, thats expected. It's that they're developing stupid things that we don't need at the moment. AKA that 8K monitor.
