Feasibility/Cost of Using an Amiga Commodore 2000 as an ATX case?

AcornEyes

I really want to go for that retro 80's look, with some LED strips obviously.

I've never done a case mod in my life, and I know this is probably not a good place to start but you don't know just how much I love the 80s.

Amiga Commodore 2000 for anyone who doesn't know how it looks.

Well, if you wouldn't mind having imperfections i don't see why you couldn't.

Make a good plan, make sure the dimensions are right and off you go.

I mean a m-itx motherboard, sfx psu, ssd and maybe a gpu should fit.

There are coolers out there that will fit easily, you can even go as far as getting a pico psu if you don't need a gpu.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

I'm in dire need of a new case actually, there's barely enough room to plug in a pci-e into my card, and my card has no ventilation room.

So I'm hoping I could mod the A2000 to have better ventilation and space.

I think I'm slowly beginning to realize this might not be possible, they're too rare.

Is there any nice cheap place to get custom cases?

$200 for a case I'm going to need to modify anyways is a little much.

if you have woodworking experience you could go that route and build your own otherwise there is protocase but that might be kind of expensive. I am currently building my own case out of wood.

Why do you need a custom case? I'm confused? Why not just buy a bigger case if you need more room?

I really want a 80s aesthetic. Most cases that are sold have too much of a gamer aesthetic. Modern minimalistic designs are fine in my book, but an 80s case would make my dreams come true.

That's how life works. You want something special where the supply is low, you're going to pay out the ears for it.

Alright I gave it some thought, would it work to find the model for the Black & Decker Dehydrator from Back To The Future II and use that as a case?

Only if you found the one used in the movie. No reproductions.
