Hey all,

Ive been researching which motherboard I should buy for my i7 6800k and im getting alot of mixed messages from NCIX employee's and online. What are the issue with broadwell-e chips in motherboards that require bios issues and how can I make sure my motherboard will support my CPU?

I am currently looking into this motherboard:

But NCIX employees keep pushing me to a:

Now im not looking for people to spam me motherboards they think I should buy but instead explain what i should be looking out for in lga2011 boards.

Im building a semi workstation for my 3d modelling and rendering so id rather not get something cheap due to price and make sure it actually suits my workload.

Any help is appreciated

The X99-A II has a unique Asus feature, USB BIOS Flashback. The feature can do motherboard BIOS updates without a cpu or memory installed.

But if you go to the ASRock X99 Taichi web page and look at the CPU Support List on the Support tab, the i7-6800K is listed as compatible for All BIOS revisions. So there is no need to worry about a BIOS incompatibility.

Personally I prefer Asus motherboards. But the Taichi looks nice.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
