Stay the hell away from Avast! No Idea why anyone would recommend that adware piece of garbage. Malwarebytes is good. You can download 30 premium trial to scan. Same with Norton and Kaspersky I think.

But seriously,  not going to invest in legitimate antivirus protection for an if? If you are tapping into the Internet without protection, you are talking about when... not if.

I don't necessarily agree it's a virus, but I since you've been in the internet without protection, I would definitely get your machine tested and use protection from now on. The Internet is dirty.

Go into a game, get it to crash. As soon as that happens, go into Event Viewer and search for system events. Find the alerts for your crash. It should tell you what happened.

And make sure everything is updated for your MB. Chipset, BIOS, etc...

I built a computer on Friday the 13th, 2017 and it plays like a champ but it crashes the game after like 5 minutes or so. (PC build) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8ZsRYr

  • My operating system is Windows 10 Home.
  • My BIOS version I have is 1.A0
  • Software that I have running is steam, and origin.
  • Most of the time is just says Battlefield 4 has stopped working, same for other games.
  • Games that have crashed: Battlefield 4, Rust, Total war: Attila, Mad Max, SimCity.
  • Drivers that I have updated, GPU (376.77), MOBO. DirectX
  • I have tested my RAM, it is not that either.
  • Temps are usually 65 degrees on max load for GPU.
  • I do not overclock anything at the moment

I have tried everything and I don't know what do do any more, ive been trying since Friday to fix this problem, would be amazing.

Yeah I wouldn't either unless i was SURE and nailed everything else to try.

Noticed..... "My Motherboard BIOS version I have is 1.A0"

Ever think maybe the bios of the board isn't up to snuff as its a 1.0 revision bios?

Maybe they have an updated bios to cover any potential problems that motherboard bios's can sometimes do...

I'd be checking this...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Because I don't trust them at all. Yes, they provide "free" anti-virus; however, that's they are known to data mine and sell to advertisers. Yes, I get that Avast! claims to have fixed issues with the download of spyware and unwanted browser add-ons; however, I have absolutely zero faith and trust in this company. I cannot a product or brand to someone else that I am not willing to install or purchase myself.
