Hello

For a while I've had some trouble with a whining PSU when connecting my 24 pin cable, and ofcourse while the PC was off...I heard this whine.

The funny thing is that the whine could get higher/lower incase I had a USB device plugged in, like a keyboard, mouse or even a external harddrive..

I've changed my psu 2 times, still the same problem. I'm now thinking of letting the store make a full scan of my computer...

I personally thing is the motherboard due to the 24 pin problem. I cant anything if I just connect the PCI-e cables which means that the GPUs are safe..

But still, I need to ask.

If the motherboard is the defect part, and the MB is giving my USB devices power...Could it affect my USB devices..? If I buy a new computer, could it just make the new computer get the same problem?

I got this feeling of my ruined motherboard giving my external harddrive more power than its needed, which is affecting the whine, and due to that, I buy a new computer, put my external harddrive and it suddenly draws more power and makes my MB crapped again?

So should I worry? And by that, should I even worry about my GPUs?
