Gonna buy one soon. Hopefully get a few and cluster them, get a good Netgear switch and cheap and good fun!

Certainly want to try a webserver and use it as a cheap and cheerful c compiler. Just 'cause.

What have you done with a Raspberry Pi?

..and don't say eaten it. Don't. ... I see you typing it, stop typing it. No. ... Don't.

Used as a media centre for a bit running XBMC, Parents are still using theres for that.

Currently its running as a transmission server to download torrents along with sickbeard to auto grab TV shows when they air. (Though it doesn't seem to like my current USB stick, need to change that I think.)

Nice! How does sickbeard 'grab' the TV shows? Just interested, I have a few which are hard to get hold  of digitally atm. :P

Checks either torrents or news groups , depends on the version of sickbeard you use. It just searches for and downloads the first file it finds of the same show and quality you asked for.

I don't personally have a Pi yet, but a few guys on my network have them and use them as DNS mirrors.

@cjeffcoatjr @Havoc

'cause why not. Am i right? :P

I bet they must fold like tanks. Jeesh, DAT PPD.

Indeed you are right.... :D  not a home server, used to be part of a compute cluster, just sitting idle at the moment. Not run folding on it properly yet, will probably do some test folds on it some time soon.

I have a question.

How well does it run XBMC?

I'm tossing up between the Pi, Intel NUC, Gigabyte Brix, or mini-itx

My UDOO has HDMI, 4 cores, power/reset switches, ardrino interface, dual boots Linux/Android, Wireless, bluetooth, and a few other features I already forgot about. UDOO kicks RasPi's butt up and down. B)

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

For me persoanlly I prefer the AIO add-ons offered for the Pi.

Pi-lite being one of the ones I own.

Interesting, although still slightly confused as to what DNS mirroring is after a quick Google. I know what DNS is already, but not heard of it used in conjunction with mirroring.

But for the same price I could buy 4 Pi's, that's the only thing. I just wanted it to be cheap and cheerful and something that I can experiment with both computing in general and also mild integration with electronics.
