Coax Splitter

Hello, can a coax splitter from the main output of the Internet provider effect speed or latency.

 

For example... the internet box provider has 2 outputs and there are 3 services connected to the box... two of them with a splitter.

Yes it can, mostly if the connectors  or the splitter are of poor quality. Incoming noise, parasitic capacitance/inductance, poor terminations and many more factor can affect delicate signals carried through a coax. That being said, a good splitter with good connectors won't affect anything in a perceivable manner. Cheers!

Coax splitters effect signal quality on the line. If your signal goes to shit then you internet tends to stop working. If it really goes to shit, then your Cable boxes will stop working. Comcast, generally puts a two ways splitter on the line coming from the pole to the house. One side of the splitter does internet the other with go to a TV or another splitter if you are going to serve multiple TVs with cable. 

 

Cable modems require the best signal while cable boxes can deal with a much shittier signal.
