You can use DisplayPort

I am a noob so with DisplayPort u mean the hdmi or?

Just use the Mini DisplayPort on the laptop. Get a DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.

The GTX 980M supports HDMI 2.0 which can do 1080p 240 Hz also, but the CPU's integrated graphics only support HDMI 1.4, and sometimes the power saving GPU-switching features (like NVIDIA optimus) can interfere with the GPU's HDMI 2.0 capabilities, so that may or may not work. DisplayPort should work either way though.
