So would one layer of bubble wrap be enough for shipping a SSD when it's inside it's original box as well?

The SSD in question is a 850 EVO and well...the price difference between one layer of bubble wrap (around the box) and two is 2X the price as 2 layers would push it over the 25mm thickness limit so...basically, more or less, is a SSD shipped in it's original box enough protection?

Thanks guys.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

You could probably stick it in a normal bubblewrap lined envelope and it'd be fine for shipping

So, one layer of bubblewrap around the box in an envelop is fine?

Good :)

When i ordered mine from amazon it was the ssd box, wrapped with that weird thin foam stuff, and then inside an amazon box, and everything was okay with it

I'd imagine bubble wrap is more protective than the foam wrap, so it'd be fine.

Fair enough :P

God damn Royal mail, why is a large letter's thickness limited at 25mm? I mean 30mm wouldn't hurt...right?

Yeah its stupid.

I also wish they didn't work it out from size alone.. I've posted items before that have been literally half a cm too thick to go as a large letter which has put the size up to a small parcel that allows up to 16cm thick, and it's only weighed about 200 grams, which is way under the 750 youre allowed for a large letter, but cause its half a cm too thick, had to pay to send it as a parcel ;-;

You don't have to worry about damage from shaking or anything like that. Foam would have been more than enough. I'd be more worried about electrostatic issues, but those too are slim.

Haha, then you'd just have people saying "wtf! Why isn't it 35mm? Another 5mm isn't a lot is it?"

Considering that Samsung ships their SSDs without it being inside an anti-static bag, I'd presume it would be okay :P

I know how it feels, shipped a birthday prezzie to someone, fucking 5 quid for shipping because it was 2mm too fucking thick (yep, 27mm thick and yes, they measured it) so...yeah, that's why I don't want to risk being over (considering that I sold it at a slightly lower price than I could have).
