Why my MSi GTX 980 4G Gaming PCB Burn when IDLE ?

reading trough jonnyguru on that power supply.. 

 

i suggest maybe considering something new on that end, i'm not saying your PSU is the issue, but some of jonny's tests arent quite inspiring so to say.

Recently my MSi GTX 980 4G Gaming PCB Burn (AGAIN). 

I Overclock my MSi GTX 980 with MSi After Burner latest software

 

I Use this settings :
Core Voltage     : +0

Power Limit       : Max

Temp                 : Max

Core Clock        : +200

Memory CLock  : +225

Fan 100% if it reach 70 degree C

 

i Run BenchMark : 3x Unigin Heaven, 1x 3DMark Firestrike, 2x Unigin Vally

it run well and stable, the Core Temp 65 - 71 Degree C

 

when my computer is in IDLE, suddnely the PC Dead Instanly, with burn smell in GTX 980

i return to MSi ,they said the PCB Burn....

 

Why it burns while my PC is on IDLE ? 

 

I try to plug my old GTX 560 Zotac AMP, my PC run well again ,no problem

 

My PC Specs :

 

i7 5820K

Asus Rampage V Extreme

16 GB Corsair Vengence DDR4

MSi GTX 980 4G Gaming

PSU Cooler Master 750 watt GX II Pro

240GB SSD Intel

2TB HDD

Deepcool Captain 240 ex for CPU Cooler

its Dead instanly with burn smell ...i return to MSi and they said the PCB Burn

You should change that PSU :P

 

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

Oh, i had the same thing happen to my pcs+ r9 390x. 

 

But the only difference is that powercolor told me to fuck off xD

wtf why is the lower threshold at 40%? I think you may need to run a driver sweeper and delete all fanrelated programms including their profiles and reinstall them.
