Hello,

Built a PC for my father, with an i7 3960X + an Intel DX79SI motherboard. Set voltage to 1.200 in BIOS. When checking in CPU-Z, the voltage is not constant 1.200V, but jumps all the way up to 1.300V+ by itself, in idle. Why is the voltage not staying consistent at 1.200V like I set it from the bios?

EDIT: I think it's the setting just below Voltage, the CPU VR Droop Control. I have 3 options there:

Low V-Droop (performance)

Mid V-Droop

High V-Droop

And here's what's happening when I disable Turbo Boost:

Bump! Does anyone have any info regarding why voltage is jumping? Or perhaps if it's possible to disable this VR Droop from Intel motherboards?
