GPU hardware video acceleration/decoding/whatever?

Is there a way to take some load off of my 6600k with the help of my GTX 1080 to watch a movie?
The CPU is shitting itself when i'm trying to watch an x265 HEVC 10bit 2160p movie

update drivers restart your computer to see if that happens again

By going through different video/media players until finding out that Windows' own players "Movies & TV" as well as Windows Media Player hardly tackles the CPU at all. Literally only a couple % hit to the CPU opposed to almost fully or fully maxing it out.
The GPU clock and memory speed ramps up as high as it'll go to begin with but then settles down to almost idle within a minute.
