I'm thinking about building a new pc because the one i have now is so bulky and crazy loud, but im not too familiar with all the different cases out there. Im looking for a case that's preferably an ITX case but an mATX case would do aswell and i needs it to have some sort of soundproofing of some sort.. Maybe someone with abit more knowledge in this area could give me a few case tips :) ?

All cases are inherently silent. If you want a quiet system, avoid using noisy parts.

Eliminate as many moving parts as you can. Start with going full-SSD, as the HDD is usually the loudest part of a PC. It is with mine. If you can't go all-SSD, use rubber grommets to mount your HDD, or suspend it in pantyhose (I did this, it's now half as loud but still the loudest thing in my PC)

Use a 'quiet' case with sound-dampening foam on the inside and not a lot of vents. Use quiet coolers and fans like the Noctua L9i and Noctua NF-F12 of NF-F12 fans.

He's probably talking about the HDD.. :P and yeah i know ssd's are the way to go if you want complete silence but i cant afford to buy ssd's that have my need of storage space.

But some cases has to be "more" silent than others right? and as far as noisy parts go i'll try to limit the use of hdd's and maybe try the pantyhose trick mentioned above, but as far as cpu coolers go im not sure what's more silent, a 140 aio water cooler or air cooler?

The Intel stock cooler is pretty dead silent in my rig. The fans are too slow to be audible (I forced them as low as they can go without stopping). My GPU's fans don't spin unless it's under significant load. It's the song of my hard drive for sure.

The cooler master mastercase pro 3 is very good (allthough big for its formfactor) mATX case with good soundlvls and still very good cooling. Other then that you need parts that are able to go low on noise. If it fits for CPU cooler would suggest the Scythe Fuma that can run very silent. Other then that if you use GPU MSI has in general relative silent coolers with the Twin Frozrs. Especially for the new Nvidia 10 series. EVGA ACX 3.0 coolers are also good.

All you need to do is adjust fan RPM so a fan controller is handy and a mobo with enough PWN connectors to fit your fans. For other cases you might have to look around, since for many it is either low sound or good cooling at the cost of the other.

Cases don't make noise.

Liquid cooling has pump noise which air cooling doesn't.

I understand bro, but you mentioned the SSD being loud and made me laugh. Think you mean HDD, but if not I can tell you right now that something is wrong with it if it makes noise some how :)

Some cases has to isolate the noise better...

That depends on what components are making the noise.

Edited. Thanks for pointing it out.
