Security Camera

I need a low resouloution camera that I can connect via a WIRE to a computer monitor. I want to spend no more than $100. Any suggestions? I'd prefer VGA, DVI, or HDMI for outputs. Thanks in advance.

Your best option is to get some network security cameras, it lets you hook up to your router and some even have PTZ. Low res it's useless, get HD at least 720P.

You could use a raspberry pi as a PC with HDMI output and connect a camera to it.

So how and what does it display to? Also, PTZ?

A app on your phone or computer to see it. PTZ stands for pan, tilt, and zoom. Standard security cameras runs on BNC and your monitor won't have that. You will need a vga to bnc converter to make that work, but it won't do any recording. You'll need a DVR system to do that. Those won't have PTZ either, the ones that do are extremely expensive and requires other parts to make them work.

Home use network security cameras, some comes with them, and can let you connect to your router.

I don't need recording. Just live playback, any links you can give me for recomendations?

Your best option is to find a local store near you that sell it, so you can then get the parts you want.

A lot of IP cameras have a web interface with live playback. I use Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I for my house and I use the web GUI for the live playback all of the time but I can also use programs like VLC or apps on my phone.
