cpu Thoughts?

MSI Intel Skylake H110 LGA 1151 DDR4

 

I would like to use i5 6600K on it and maybe overclock it. I am trying to get a Z170 MB for cheap.

its a good motherboard if you are not using an unlocked processor

What CPU do you want to put in it? If it's not a K series, it's fine. If it is, go Z170.

Do you already have the CPU? If yes, see above. If not, get an H270 (or B250) motherboard instead, since it offers slight improvements (native support for Kaby Lake, support for Intel Optane, more PCIe lanes, etc.) at roughly the same price (depending on where you live). Advice on the K series CPU still applies, though (only go for Z270 instead of Z170).

6600k cannot be overclocked with H series mobo.

6600k can be overclocked with Z series mobo.
