Why does Pentium still exist?

Having more threads per core only helps if it provides any useful benefit, which I'm not sure will be the case without more radical architecture changes.

 

Maybe they could scrap both i3 and i5, and create the i4: 3 cores, 6 threads with HT :P

Eh, I don't think a tri-core would work well though..

Pentium = 2/4

i3 = 4/4

i5 = 4/8

i7 = 8/8
