What you having trouble with? I found it easy enough to get working (although, getting web browsing/downloads to work properly was a pain. Why is it so heavily cockblocked by default?).

Set up the basics but need to make sure I am doing it right, using my home server as a test before the deployment of a new work server...

haha lol yea..what type of services are you runing?

So far setup the storage system which is very cool with storage pools and virtual disks...

Installed DNS, DHCP and the Active Directory Services...

Then what to pay with virtual servers, maybe a virtual exchange server...

Thanks  a cool set up, is that ur home set up. what software are you using for the vitalisation?

That's my home server going to use this as a test server so I know what I am doing so playing for the next few mouths, then will build and deploy servers to my business using virtual desktops so an employee can just login to any workstation have have it load with there required programs and infrastructure ... so everyone can hot desk or work from home with a VPN & VOIP system...

Going to use everything around 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1 got load of learning to do but it seems possible, the problem I have is my business is growing but my IT is a dinosaur need to get high tech fast and got some quotes from companies that set this stuff up and it was a joke... How hard can it be LOL...

That a cool set up for home, iev only got two dell sc1425 (now thats a dinosaur lol) thats gunna be a cool project :). Its smart to base it around 2012 n 8.1, you wont need to upgrage OS for a good while. I no they just rip peoples pants down and try and over complicate thing and sell you everything under the sun. haha lol well yea, once you've done it thats it, just maintaining it then and add to it if and when needed.

What does your business do?

Well I had some old dinosaur dell stuff running windows NT and it died a few months ago...

I have a manufacturing company, but also ended up running some other companies website and sales.. My problem is we are growing but not making the money to throw staff at the problem... so need to improve our efficiency...

Haha lol you win.

Aw cool. you hosting the second companys site to?  Yea deffo, i work in cardiff and the lack of money for growth is rediculess. Unless you can hire a IT guru that is worth his weight in gold...Yea deffo more effcienct and you get to build somthing realy cool :)

No use dedicated off site servers for web hosting, maybe one day i will host them on own equipment but who knows...

Would love to employ an IT guru, but my problem is they cost allot of money, well the goods ones anyway... that's why I end up doing all the IT crap...
