Hi,

Could use a little technical advise here guys & girls.

Today I accidentally deleted my Chrome user profile. Came about because you can't log into google docs from more than 1 account without more than 1 user profile...

anyway long story short, bang, all bookmarks, settings etc. was gone.

Understand the google side of things is gone, thats ok, but i'd really like to restore my bookmarks.

I navigated to the chrome user settings on 'C' drive and found the 'bookmarks' and 'bookmarks.bak' file. Both were very small files.

Found and used a program called Shadow Explorer to navigate to an older version of same folder and grabbed those same files (which showed as 1700kb now).

I've tried signing off from Chrome, then shutting Chrome down, then renaming the 'bookmarks' file to 'bookmarks.old' and the 'bookmarks.bak' file to 'bookmarks' - or just straight copying them in from the older folder.

But when I restart Chrome, the bookmarks bar is still empty.

If I then close Chrome down again the 'bookmarks' file goes back to 0 or 1 byte.

So how do I get Chrome to recognize and load the bookmarks files?

I'm running Windows 10 64-bit btw.
