Hello there, I have a question I wanted to ask and couldn't think of a better place then this site.
I want to upgrade my gpu from a gtx 650ti(1gb) to an rx470. My processor is Intel core i3 530 and I have 6gb of ram with a 420w psu.

will my upgrade of gpu be affected by my processor? thank you

* also i don't know if I'm posting this in the right place so sorry since this is my first time here.

IIRC i3 530s are HT dual cores from the first generation core, they're not that good. The good news is you can look for an i7 for LGA 1156 and it should cost very little.

The RX 470 will probably work on the i3 machine for a while, so go ahead and buy the RX first and the i7 second :)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Damn!, so i would basicly not get any perfomance boost on my games?

Yes you would, the RX 470 is supposed to do over 60fps average at max 1080p in GTA V

Or I guess you're asking about a performance boost from the RX 470? Well GTA V is CPU heavy as well as GPU, so the i7-860 or similar would improve that performance
