GPU Problem... help...

So I tried to boot up my PC today and was met with a black screen. Computer was still sending a signal. My VGA debug light was red (indicates no GPU or fail), and nothing was happening. I take out the GPU, put it back it. Everything works. Then I turn it off, restart it, still works. Played a round of Overwatch, then shut it down. 30 minutes later I come back, try to turn it on, and I'm met with a black screen. I don't know whats going on... I think it's:

 

A) PCIE connection? LEDs on GPU are turned on though. 

 

B) HDMI cable is messed up.

Maybe try another display cable as it happened to me too. 

If that doesn't work, try updating the GPU driver, or if it is already on the latest version, downgrade it a few versions.

It also might be your PSU not supplying enough power or is unstable and as a safeguard the GPU shut off.

Problem is... I don't have another display cable. 

 

I can't even get into the BIOS now... so yeah...

 

I sorta doubt it's my PSU, I have an RMx series one... It could be, but I'll try that as a last resort.

Okay...

Try removing your GPU and using your IGPU to boot and display.

If BIOS still fails to load, switch to the second bios.

Removed the GPU, still won't boot, red light still on.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Problem is that someone else has had this problem before, which makes it fishy. Also, I booted it after it happened the first time... dunno.

I think it now is more of a Motherboard issue. 

Is that your only PC or is there another where you can install your GPU into?

Have you tried the backup BIOS?

Nope, this is my only PC. I'll have to leave doing the backup bios for tomorrow, I have some work to do. I'll still be watching this page though.

Oops forgot to quote you. Also, the guy in the forum post, it turned out it was a bent pin out of the box, so I guess his situation doesn't help me at all. He RMAed in the end. Also.. looked in the manual, how exactly does one access the backup bios?

It depends on your motherboard model. Some have an automatic switch where others have a pin and they have to change over the switch.

You won't believe what just happened. So I had moved the card down a slot yesterday, didn't boot, I left it alone, went to sleep. Come back home today, click the power button out of habit... and IT POWERS ON. Still curious though, what happened yesterday?
