Hey guys!

I just held my 15th birthday and i'm so excited that i finally have enough money to buy a new pc! Coming from a 2 year old i3 based laptop, this will be so powerfull.

I've been looking at hardwarre for the past year to keep up with all the new stuff, so i'm pretty sure about what to buy, and what not to buy. but i've still planned to put it on a forum, becaause i know there's people that know alot more to this than me.

so here is my new build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K

CPU cooling: Corsair H100i

motherboard: MSI Z77 MPower

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3

GPU: MSI GTX680 Lightning OR MSI R7970 Lightning

PSU: corsair AX760i 80+ Platinum

Lighting is done by an NZXT Hue RGB

CASE: Corsair Obsidian 650D

OS: Windows 7/8

Monitor: Benq XL2420T

From the parts above, i would like to hear your opinions on this.

I have no such limit on my budget, but around $2100. Also, price may differ from the US, as i am located in Denmark

This will be used mainly for gaming FPS games.

I will buy myself some proper peripherals when the Corsair k95 keyboard and m95 mouse gets released into shops.

I know what i forgot in my post >.<

Storage!

I seriously need advice on what SSD to go for.

HDD: WD BLACK 1TB

For an SSD for reliability Intel hands down. For performance i guess either Samsung 830/840 Pro or OCZ equivalent.

Project Restomod (In progress)

There's no way you will need an H100i for a i5-3570k.. A Hyper 212 Evo will be more than fine, I promise you. I'll also highly recommend you get an EVGA 2GB GTX 680. I don't really know what an MSI lightning edition GPU offers to bump up the price that much, but just go with a standard/OC EVGA 680. Cases, as you'll be gaming, I'd recommend a Corsair 500r case. Just as good as the Corsair D series cases, but just a little cheaper. PSU's.. Corsair certainly do produce great PSU's. But I don't know why you've chosen a Professional PSU(AX), I'd say you'd be fine with a 700W PSU, but it's more about quality than quantity. And there aren't any really good 700W CPU's. Go with a Corsair TX 750W(Enthusiast, 80+ Bronze) PSU.

I personally prefer Windows 7, depending on what else you'll be doing, Home Premium will be fine. Alas, we have come to storage. WD/Seagate, doesn't matter much. I prefer Seagate, but it's not a big deal. SSD's. Something that is a big deal. 120/240GB's. Although I respect Socky's opinion, and I'm in no way saying he's wrong, we're all friends here right? : But you should 100% definitely not go with a Samsung or OCZ SSD. If you mainly want reliability with a bit of performance, Intel 330 Series SSD's are great. 120GB's, at $100 I think? Can't go wrong. But with the rest of your computers stats, and being an FPS gamer myself, I'd highly recommend a Corsair Force GT/Corsair Neutron GTX SSD. Neutron GTX has slightly lower Write MB/s at 330, whereas the Force GT being 515, the Neutron GTX has 10k more IOPS, and is therefore $15 more expensive. But you can pick up a 120GB Force GT/Neutron GTX SSD for.. $150-170? They're expensive to say the least.. But they're definitely worth it if you value that extra performance. IF not, just go with an Intel 330.

Sorry, I really do talk a lot! Hope I've helped.

All I'm going to say is, good luck with getting a 680 Lightning or 7970 Lightning. They're becoming very rare very quickly as a lot of suppliers are out of stock and MSI have stopped making them. I tried buying one other other day an all suppliers in my region are now out of stock :(
