Hi guys

so yea GFX cards again lol

as you see above im not sure which option is best ? , both are the same price , but what about performance , power draw for each setup ?

im running an 8350 @shock , will i see any bottlenecks or anything , if so how far would i need to OC to get rid of the bottleneck ?

thanks in advance

Why not sli the 660's?

Vram for one , want to get a 1440p screen in the future , dont think 2gb will be enough , plus with mantle coming soon AMD cards should see a jump in performance , plus in the UK a 7970 is only a little bit more expensive that a 660

Two 660's are on par or better than a 680, and with the two of the 660's you should be able to run 1440p pretty good (high-medium quality).

nah u wont see a bottleneck from your CPU

meh i would just get an r9 290x. wouldnt really get any others. but if u really want one of those two options then 7990

I would still go for a two 660's, but if your set on one of the two AMD cards, two 7970's should work wonders (looks way cooler than one 7990).

I'd suggest going a single 7990. 2x 7970's will be slightly more powerful, but they'll be much louder, it'll run hotter, and draw more power. The performance difference is minimal.

Why not sli the 660's?

Uhm... what? 2x 7970's or a 7990 will CRUSH 2x 660's. A 7970 is quite a bit faster than a 660 (Or even a 660 ti). Plus the extra VRAM would be quite useful for those higher resolutions, like the OP stated he would like to use.

This is a good suggestion. Getting a single 290x would be a good alternative (The 7990 might still out perform it - I'm not sure and would need to check benchmarks -  but then you can crossfire the 290x later if need be).

My personal suggestion, wait for the Gigabyte 290x Windforce 3 (I love those coolers), or if you don't want to wait, get a 7990.

I'm going to have to disagree with getting the Radeon HD 7990. There are coil whine and cooling issues with the 7990. Unless you're water cooling I wouldn't recommend getting one. An even better setup would be to go with Crossfired Radeon R9 280X's which are the equivalent to HD 7970 GHz Editions. They will perform better and each card will run cooler.
