24 core folding machine

On one of linuses videos he mentioned a 24 core folding pc that this guy just put on his desk and i was wondering how??? did that guy make a 24 core machine??

you buy a 2P board (meaning two processors) and he put 12 core server CPU,

 

or a 4p board with 4  * 8 core CPU's in it

Yup, he got a motherboard with 4 sockets and then inserted 4 processors.

its on a server board where you can have more than one cpu so he has 4 cpus. Look into the folding section there are a few builds there with stuff like that
