can you put a z170 chip in a z270 board or vise versa.

Yes however the Z170 boards will need a bios update before the Kaby Lake CPUs are installed.

you can put a Z170 in a Z270. (you might want check if your CPU is compatible with Z270). I am almost positive (correct me if I am wrong) a 6700k works in Z270.

Some board need 6th gen CPU for BIOS update. But it will work

Kabylake in a Z170 == few Kabylake features
