Hi guys I have a chieftech cft-750-14cs psu for about 4 years now and the fan started beeing really noisy lately. The fan it uses is a 2 pin 140 mm  Yate Loon D14BH-12. The problem I have is that I tried swapping the fan with an Arctic f14 silent but the rated current on the original fan is 0.7A and the one on the arctic fan is 0.11A and when I hooked it up to the psu it didn't work. Could you guys tell me with what I could replace this fan? Thanks for the help.

Well for starters that PSU is really bad. I would change it just for the reason that the day it goes bad, it will kill the computer it's connected to along with itself.

Now, you're telling me you opened your PSU, took the old fan out and connected a new one, but it didn't work? As in, the fan's not spinning?

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

It would spin if I gave it a push. But very slowly. I know that it's not a really good psu but I don't want to switch it yet because I will build a new system when amd cpu and gpus come out so I don't really want to buy 2 psus.

You don't have to buy 2. You can just swap out the PSUs, if you get one that is standard ATX sized

But I will still need this pc. And the psu is actually quite ok because my system never draws more than 300 watts from it and it hasn't had any problems up until now except for the fan.

Wattage isn't really the only factor in a PSU, there are: Quality, Efficiency and Durability.

Well you have kind of a crap PSU so I'd suggest you not worry so much about the fan and try to get something at least tier 4 in my signature.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
