Good morning,

In december last year I build my new rig with the following specs:

CPU: I5 6600k

RAM: 16gb (2x8) Corsair Vengeance LED

MoBo: MSI Z170A Gaming M3

GPU: GTX 1060 Strix Overclocked

PSU: Corsair RM650x

Cooling: Kraken X41

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

SSD with OS: Samsung Evo 250gb

build in the S340

The rig had been working great for weeks and I enjoyed every moment of it, however the last few hours I've been having some rather annoying nuisances:

My screen suddenly dissconnects (happened 2 times while watching youtube, once while stresstesting after a crash with valley). After that my PC keeps playing the video for a few seconds (In the sense that it's still audible) and then it starts making an insane amount of noise (fans at full speed etc.). I have to shut off my PC the hard way after that by holding down the start button. The strange thing is that my Kraken lighting stays on after having shut down the pc, which normally doesn't happen.

After restarting again, 2 things have happened so far:

1. I get to see the MSI logo from my motherboard and after that windows boots like normally. However, a while later, the system crashes again.

2. I get to see the MSI logo, however, windows doesn't boot and instead I get a white line on my screen. I have to hard restart after this. After entering the bios, however, it was fixed without doing anything.

I turned off my PSU for 5 minutes and rebooted after that and the problem hasn't occured so far again. However, I started writing this post directly after rebooting, so anything could happen. It might not be fixed at all.

If any of you would have any idea what's wrong and how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it. It would be a shame if my rig only lasted 5 weeks or so :P

Thanks in advance,

Alexander

by "the system crashes again, do you mean bluescreen? If so, I'd suggest searching the error it gives you.

No. Just the crash I described: The screen disconnects, the PC keeps going on for a few seconds and then the fans go full rambo and I have to hard-reboot.

Reinstall your GPU drivers, sounds like it's a GPU related issue.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

EDIT:

The PSU thing did nothing: my PC crashed again, the same way like before.

I reinstalled my drivers and ran Valley for 15 minutes after that. No crashes so far, so it seems to be fixed. Thank you very much! This seems to have fixed the issues!
