Major Technological Differences Between GK104 & GK110

I am considering to upgrade from 7770 to GTX760, GTX770, or even GTX780 (which is a bit out of my budget)

I was pretty much going to buy the 770 as soon as the 770, 780 price dropped due to the launching announcement of 780 Ti, although it is not taking any effect on my local price of the two cards as of this moment.

But I notice GTX760 and 770 uses the GK104 core, while the 780 uses the GK110 core, and I am thinking besides the pure performance difference (which I think isn't too much considering the price difference) , what makes the 780 having such higher price than 770? Are there any technological differences that caused this?

Thank you very much for taking your time to read this enquiry article, will appreciate any useful information or any links to related articles.

nope, the 780 didnt have any card in its performance range to challenge it so they could price it what ever they wanted because people who want the best performance would buy it anyway....

It is a strong card that will perform better than a 770 in everything.  The 760 and 770 are re using the gpu of the 680 and such and the titan and 780 got the new gpu.I have really enjoyed my 770 though its a good card.

short version:

GK104=Older, slower, less efficient(marginally)

GK110=Newer, faster, more efficient(marginally), more better, more everything.

110 is twice the cuda cores and size of the 104, it also has double precision capabilities . That's all I really know

Ps: the 110 if the first Kepler chip they developed. And from that came 104

So is the 770, although using the GK104 core, considering the noticeable price difference,  a more "worth-it" buy than the 780 (which is using the GK110 core)?

Btw, what are the official prices for 760 and 770? Are they $250 and $330 respectively? I want to know this to see if the performance to price ratio of 770 has improved.

Thank you for such fast response.
