Any good sound card for cheap but not crap cheap?

SoundBlaster Z is a good one.

And a set of these:

Roccat Kave 5.1

Unfortunately they are being discontinued, but they are so good in BF games, I bought a spare set. $40 bucks for refurbished I would even risk it,or maybe the newer version of them.

usually onboard are decent enough

unless you want to invest in a DAC

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

You are probably better off buying an external DAC/Amp combo instead of a sound card. What kind of price are you looking for? I could recommend this http://a.co/gnyiHgS good value for money.

Not anymore. Superceded by Schiit Fulla 2.

I 100% agree with you the Fulla 2 is better in basically every way, however he said something cheap. With Fiio E10K he'll save $25 which is why I recommended that one instead.

$25 isn't worth it for Chi-Fi. Plus, features and ergos.
