Hey

I've recently bought a new corsair void USB and ive discovered that when using teamspeak or watching a youtube video that involves alot of talking the sound is very echoy and tinny. I've spoken to corsair and they're unable to fix this but i was wondering if this was normal for other people when using 7.1. When my headset is in stereo mode there is no echo but as soon as i put it into 7.1 it begins to show these issues. Is this normal or should i get my headset replaced.

Cheers

I think what you are hearing is simply a result of surround sound emulation. My g430 used to do it and on my sound blaster z if I turn the virtual surround all the way up it sounds like this.
Nothing you can do really.

The headset is virtual surround and not true surround.
It's not the same as actually having 7.1 surrounding you, it simply tries to emulate that.
Some headsets are good at emulating it, but as a drawback you do get the echo tin sound.
It's just software doing the work in the usb part of the headset.
