First Shoot Nerves

I have taken many videos for companies, schools, friends, and more. But this time the client is asking for photos. I don't normally do photos but I know the basics. It is for machines rather then humans. My main worry is the lighting. I have 3 soft box flashes and I plan to tether to a laptop so they can see on screen exactly what it looks like. I will we using a 7D mark II and have a large variety of lenses. Any tips would be appropriated.

Just keeping this here as a As long as you get a nice shot, theres nothing to worry about. Quick tip: only take a shot when the lens is COMPLETELY locked onto the target, otherwise it could come out fuzzy

Everything will be from a tripod. I am just worried it will turn out all blue or have giant white spots in the shiny metal from the lights.

Think about the placement of lights then, and the angle of reflection.  If you don't want bright reflections then try bouncing the lights off walls or other surfaces, use diffusers.

Is this paid? If so, politely decline and refer them to a photographer. 

 

What at are you photographing?

 

Setup lighting like you would take video and take a picture instead of video. If you know only the "basics" of photography, then you won't have the experience to use flash on a paid shoot.
