Hey Guys,

How well do you reckon the R9 280X will perform with the newer games coming out in 2017 at 1080p.

Do any of you have experience with higher end games running on this card?

Thanks in Advance.

Right now, taking BF1 & Doom 2016 as example, it can handle medium settings to have a constant 60-70 fps.

EDIT: it's around 1050ti performance wise.

Somewhere between the performance of a 1050ti and an rx 470, probably leaning closer to the 1050ti. Should do reasonably well at 1080 low/medium with filters off for most games

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

Yeah, I bought mine two months ago for 130 euros, it still is a pretty decent card for 1080p. Just need to spend 10 minutes to change couple of settings and then get 50-60 FPS.

CPU: i7 3770K | MB: EVGA Z77 FTW | RAM: HyperX Savage 2400Mhz 16GB | GPU: R9 280X Toxic | Cooler: Scythe Fuma | PSU: CoolerMaster B600

Hi Guys,

So my Sapphire Dual-X R9 280X is looking dirty and running at high temps, so I decided to clean it. I removed the four screws around the GPU, and have pushed the black pegs though. I cannot remove the cooler no matter what I try. There are no other screws visible, do you guys have any idea what might be holding the cooler down?

Thanks in Advance

Sorry, I feel like an idiot. There's a small button on the top of the card you have to press to release it.
